We’re excited to be able to welcome you all into the studio and provide the opportunity for you to give the craft a go yourself. Here at Claire McC Ceramics we aim to have something to suit everyone, from those looking for a quick taste, to those looking to fully dive in.

One Day Pottery Experience

2 hours

£45 per person

Looking for a one-day experience of what its like to be potter? Then this is the perfect class for you. Come and join me in the studio, where you’ll get a full taster of the pottery process.  During your session you’ll hop onto the pottery wheel yourself, really getting stuck in to the making and getting your own hands dirty. The other half of your session will be the time to let your artistic side shine through as switch into decorating mode, painting your very own premade mug with whatever design you wish. This class is the perfect option for someone looking to try it all in one day, and once your creations from the wheel are dry, everything will be fired and finished in the kiln and sent out to you. All glazed and ready to use!

This is also the perfect class for private groups, birthday parties, hen parties, work outings or anyone on a quick visit to the area.

Private Pottery Class

(2 lesson minimum)

Looking for individual pottery lessons, or maybe you’re a group all wanting to give it a go together? Then this is the class for you. Return weekly to learn and improve your pottery skills, spending time throwing and continuing to work on your pieces each week. Go a step beyond the one-day experience and go through the entire pottery process, making, drying, and glazing your own work. The perfect option for anyone really wanting to give the craft a go. The great thing about this option is that you can decide how many weeks you wish the classes to run for (with the amount you learn and experience being impacted by the number of classes.)

3 Week Pottery Evening Class

For three weeks keep coming back to the studio and experience the entire process all the way through; from throwing, to drying, to firing and glazing your own work. By returning each week you can continue to work on your creations at different stages and really experience the full pottery process. And as your throwing improves, we have time to take on new challenges such as making spouts and lids and broadening your skills on the wheel. This is the perfect class for anyone really wanting to learn how to throw, working alongside others who share the same enthusiasm as you. Suitable for beginners through to experienced.
